I was drawn to a perfect stranger (or so I thought) to make sure she was ok or safe. I wanted to protect her and her innocence and vunerability and then discovered that she was one of your students. As I learned this, I remembered her face from years earlier. I remembered you saying her name as you told me about her and then knew why I was drawn to her. (You were so proud of your students and I believe you told me about each one and what you were most proud of in them and their accomplishments. You really had a soft spot for children and young adults. You could have been beat from a very long day, and yet a smile would come to your face as you recounted your day with them...every time)
Your strength amazes me constantly, Stevie.
Inez called later that day to thank me for being her 'guardian angel' and I told her that it was 'my angel' that was responsible ...and she agreed that she too knew that.
We love you and realize how blessed we are to have been given such a beautiful gift. You have made such an imprint on our hearts and lives. I could never repay or thank God enough to have trusted me with such a precious angel as my son; my heart and soul.
I know how happy it made you...and that's all that I could ever want now!

As Charlie was telling me all about his big race coming up, it brought back memories of when you were so much younger and full of excitement about your races.
In particular, I remember your precious face as you drove over your competition!
I loved to watch how you studied and perfected your skills. You were relentless when it came to perfecting your skills in whatever held your interest at the time.

I would give anything to see your precious smile and beautiful eyes sparkle again!

At the last tournament that Steve attended, I had the great pleasure of seeing his pride and love for his 'little ones' as they competed for the first time....
I can tell you that Steve's heart was full in a precious way that can only be understood by seeing his face, his smile, his joy!

Stevie, I remember taking you to this playground just about everyday. The equipment is different now, but the sand lot and concrete bench are the same. The woods we used to walk through and the path are now gone as well. Still, I could remember so clearly you playing on the dome shaped monkey bars, walking along the concrete bench and just sitting and playing in the sand with you. The best part was walking there because you'd hold your little hand in mine and talk with me the entire time. Thank you for letting me love you. I miss you so much.
I took Thor to our playground this weekend and he had a blast. He ran up and down the little hill like you used to do...

Charlotte and Christine called today while they were at the cemetery. Christine wanted to know and see where Stevie was now so they decided to visit. Christine loved your bench but wanted to know why "Stevie's name was on the Chevy sign."
She knows this of course because her Grandmom has a Chevy truck and shares your admiration for the famous 'bow tie'!

I just remembered a really funny thing. The first time you visited me, Brian came with. We were driving in your car to the mall and the three of us were singing 'ghetto superstar' and you and Brian were doing the high pitch part! It was so funny that I laughed so hard my stomach hurt!

remember when you were here with us and we could hug you and feel the warmth of your love? remember when we could hear your laughter and see your smiles? remember when we thought we had all of the time in the world to do this or that, travel, go to dinner, see a movie - because we were so young and there'd be plenty of time when we were "older"? to have those days back again, and to hold you a little longer, listen to your laugh, take the time to sit and talk, have dinner, just to be still and silent together in the same room - i'd give anything for this. i would've traded places with you that day if i could have. You'd have to look after The Force, but I know you would, your Mom would. I miss you.
